Journey We Call Life

Happy life.

Simple life.

The most difficult obstacles to overcome were, getting up and arriving at the bus stop on time.

Oh, I forgot to mention paying attention in class, passing exams and completing homework.

The only thought running through my simple mind was who am I going to hang out with after school.

This simple life became a bore, I knew some things were changing when I looked in the mirror and I had grown a little chin wool.

Peers started to get cars, we would drive around for hours beneath the stars, thinking we had an idea who we are.

Perception of adulthood seemed vastly far.

Thoughts transcending from who am I going to hang out with after school, too, what am I going to do with myself after graduation.

College? Workforce? Who really knew!

Opportunities increase, so did responsibilities.

Obtaining my high school diploma was nice, yet I knew this was on the beginning of the journey we call life.

The day l loaded up the car for college, was the day I realized I may need more life knowledge.

I was on my own, 200 miles away from the familiarity of home.

Unfamiliar thoughts, emotions, and faces overwhelmed the dome.

Never thought I would say it, but I miss my humbled abode.

Free will never felt so liberating, yet so scary.

I told myself “you got this”, on the contrary I was a bit weary.

In the blink of an eye I was walking across the stage, and saying my goodbye’s to those who shared this short chapter I wrote in the process of composing my book of life.

When I moved back home, things were weird, my friends had kids and wives.

We weren’t children anymore, just a product we designed.

Tailored to pursue long term goals, accomplishments and achievements.

Too strive in this funny little journey we all author and edit in the process of publishing our own book of life.
