This Journeyed Road

We ambled along a torn road

A worn road of broken pieces

It was a road of perseverance

A road of strength

Blood shows along its trail

The memories of warred battle

We can see the tears of pain

The tears of shame, pride, and joy

How can this be, how can we see in one?

Our walk continues through dark and light

This road travels through mountains & valleys

Both steep, low and rocky then smooth

Autumn leaves covered with this passed blood

Dried and musty, yet showing beauty

There is beauty within these colors

There is beauty within us

Our pain may last from this broken road

The beatings here, left and right

They may last day and night

Fight harder, fight harder through this scared night

Long road, a long road is this

Torture comes and goes in our minds

Spinning round and round this torture goes

It goes until its final breaking point

Chains line the path, the chains of past

Rusted and combined, remembering the past

The stories told and remembered until the final destination

Coming to a point of newness

Roads are roads of life

Taking a life of steps together

Forgiving and forgetting as we take the next steps

The journey is practically complete
