Joy Cometh in the Morning

Long gone are the nights full of aches and pain

Erased are the days when tears stifled and spilled onto a sightless pillow

Gone are the days when prayers were rapidly fired at the heavens in an attempt of asking God to hear the desires of a wounded heart.

No more does my heart quake at the sound of red, white, and red.

Closet and rooms that held a lifeless body that lived are things of yesterday.

Screams and yells of a voiceless soul are silenced.

The walls that once left me gasping to breathe

Are beginning to crumble.

The lungs that could no longer breathe have been restored with the summer air.

My fragile heart is beginning to beat again.

My joy has finally come with the morning air.
