Judgement Day
On this day, here I stand, first giving honor unto God
Eager to give light unto those who can't find their way out of the darkness
Aspiring for things greater
Reaching for things higher and
Seeking lengths farther than my own wingspan
Grabbing hold onto all things good and tangible
Praying for blessings that I sometimes sinned for and
Crying during nights when life turned off my nightlight and spooked my faith with the ghost of failure
But my pillars of strength refused to fail me
To this day the glory of my father presents all things worth dying for and everything my mother cried for
In the depths of my soul lies hells kitchen Where blessings are crafted as failed recipes
Where life lives not only in the dead but in the hands of sinners turned saints
Atheist conformed to religion and
the grayscale of black and white
This nation I preach to is one of many who will fall come judgment day
So like a prophet I come bearing knowledge of better days to come and
here I stand lastly giving honor to God ready to die for Judgment day.
