I saw two people I know get into an argument

It was heavy and mean, all insults and cursing

I felt like I was watching them grab each other by the arms tugging

Like I could hear the snapping and ripping of the bones and the skin

Then the tendons and the spurt of the blood from the veins and the arteries and the what have you

Like I could see the muscle in the insides of their wrists

Tunnels and holes and seams of the flesh

And dripping and puddles

And then it was done

And then they were done.

And it was never physical, by the way, and they would never do that.  But they might as well have been.  It would have made less of a scene.
