Junior Year
As JK illustrated
the dementor kissed it out of me
numbness tingling clouding my mind
as I
walk to
class ice frigid.
Months and months the
weary weather weathering my wits.
Climate change,
knowledge of a bearable before,
The frozen hurricane stock still eye sucking my self out
Seen the Day After Tomorrow?
That day never comes,
Groundhog Day.
Never seen that one, but,
Nothing Changes.
An empty body struggles for stability
In ferocious winds.
Unseen bearable to the students surrounding
me.
Where wrong fork road took
rewritten rules
once taught my family’s warm Christmas Tree
bright lights paint taint
shimmery skin of highlighted treasures
This Moment’s a Gift
German, not English
Harsh inflection dictates this
Perfect Poison present
When one’s self is ripped from the body
To survive these presents.
Multiple presents per minute
(am I lucky?)
one after the
next after the
next after the…
Battle Continues. No soccer sweet peach slices
the refreshing Powerade.
To aid personal power
to push through fading time
So…
Could the school system save me?
Only by expulsion,
Social Worker works that out
learning lessons taken for granted
Too much sympathy softens the soul
Oops, Dementor stole that
Banished an abomination such as myself.
But then again… where am I?
Must’ve been poisoned by a present
Ha! Gift.
