Just 2
Laughing
is what me and my little sister
are doing. Throwing an exercise ball back and forth, cracking
up when we Miss.
Talking, smiling,
laughing.
Beside me, my laptop screams
of half-finished essays
trig tests
physics homework
scholarship deadlines.
My little sister does something funny.
The laughter doubles
as a new inside joke is made.
A new memory is stored Away
for Future use.
Hanging in plain sight is my graduation gown.
2 more months until I wear it.
Not 8
Not 5
Just 2
2 sister giggling
The happiness between the 2.
The laptop screams.
I should answer. I would,
if not for the gown.
2 more months.
Little sister laughs,
unaware of the 2 screaming objects.
2 more months
of being 2
I make a joke,
the laughter defeats the screams.
For now.
2 more of being 2
2 more months
