JUST ANOTHER FRIDAY NIGHT

JUST ANOTHER FRIDAY NIGHT (Based On A True Life Story) Her presence here is like a hollow echo It's crystal clear that she doesn't want to be here Underneath the cute smiles and pretty face Is a girl trying to stay afloat and survive And keep her head above the water She's a good girl, pretty, and well raised too But the city life demands a steep price Just like the game of monopoly Only the highest bidder survives She swore this would be the first and last time But it’s been six months later the path cemented And she could already tell that it would be a formidable choice To sever ties with the life that pays the bills and feeds her Su madre is counting on her to cater for her younger siblings Somehow she never disappoints Only if mum knew what her beloved Chineye is doing “to make her proud” [To be continued]
