Just Be Me
My parents have shown me what it should look and feel like to
“Just Be Me.”
When someone accepts you for who you are; regardless of what others think, that makes me feel free.
My father never screams at my mother; his tone is always soft;
In turn my Mom appreciates that and therefore calls him “Boss”.
Kissing and embracing is something they do often
And dad texting Mom I love you tends to never go forgotten.
My relationship is very much like theirs;
My girlfriend and I make sure we care;
About how we both feel about each other’s feelings;
try to respect one another’s privacy and support each other’s dreams;
Individual dreams as well as shared dreams;
Because two people that love one another want the best for the individual as well as the couple
#BecauseIloveyou is more than words; it’s a feeling;
When I say #BecauseIloveyou, it means I want the best for you;
with or without me,
So you can “Just be You” and I can “Just Be Me.”
