Just because I'm African American, 

Doesn't mean I'm ghetto,

Doesn't mean I'm loud, 

And doesn't mean I only eat fried chicken and drink Kool-Aid,

Just because I'm African American, 

Doesn't mean I always eat watermelon during the summer time,

And on welfare and get food stamps, 

Just because I'm African American,

Doesn't mean I'm dumb, 

Doesn't mean I was raised without a father, 

And looking for attention becauseI don't have someone to love me,

Why am I loud? 

Why am I dumb and fatherless? 

Why am I on welfare and food stamps?
