Just By Chance

One day, one second thats all it took

To change my life, just one innocent look

Back to my hometown after so long apart

Hope for the future, the promise of a new start

From the corner of my eye to my surprise i see

A forgotten aquantance and by chance she saw me

It felt so good to catch up with an old friend

The comfort to finally be back home again

As we part ways we plan for the next day

I had no comprehension of what was to come my way

It started so sinple, so innocent and fun

And as for worries we didnt have one

It was amazing how something so small

Could take you away, worries and all

As we drifted each day farther from life

We entered a new world of misery and strife

The first to go, our fun loving male

Was taken and sentence to the confines of jail

Thats the day I truly became a fighter

As our care free life turned into an episode of surviver

We learned the hard way that we had lost our bodyguard

And the events that followed will forever leave me scarred

Friendship turned to reliance

As we looked to eachother for guidance

Then making the mistake of takiong on the stress

Of trying to house and clean up anothers mess

And one act of desperation

Secured definate damnation

There was no going back now

Connected by a half-hearted vow

Until one day when it all came crashing down

Our carefully built wall arourd our carefully built town

And regrettably our bond began to break

Overwhelmed by the brutal punch of an entire earthquake

The way our lives began to feel

No second thoughts to lie cheat or steal

After one innocent night i was certian

It was time to rise back up to the surface

My high expectaions left us separated

And one small mistake turned friendship to hatred

The next to go, our beloved comic

A loss that seemed so sudden and tragic

But who would tell you. what would I say

Those two horibble words would blow you away

The reality hit when i saw you crying

It seemed like just yesterday we were all joking and smiling

But unfortunately those days are long gone

Now to get by we need eachother to lean on

As we come together to live in memory

We allow our pain to get slightly less heavy

They say its summertime and the livings easy

Sitting by the pool air light and breezy

Brought back together

By pain and good weather

But underneath it wasnt so great

So when you called I didnt hesitate

I stepped back into that familiar place

And got reaquainted with that oh so familiar face

Conforably back in that state of mind

With not a thought of those I left behind

We know history repeats so just as before

Jail takes away our frind once more

As I sink lower and the deed is done

Theres no turning back now, nowhere to run

But to us it was just all fun and games

The obsession in our mind never felt strange

Its always fun until someone gets hurt

Our teenage illusion that we were being careful and alert

Separated too long I couldnt wait to see

My very best friend and the devil she brought for me

You see euphoria and the devil are one in the same

I waited all night but you never came

The last to go, the saddest of all

Was you my dear euphoria your tragic fall

I never thought i would see the day

When our very own heavan took you away

I guess its just me now, you're no longer here

I have to do this alone and face that fear

Im stronger now with you in my heart

Because no matter what, with you i will never part

Its crazy how easily your life can be shook

One day, one second, thats all it took
