Just a Day

One day is all it takes

One day to make them break

They’ll see what I see

They’ll hear from me

They should be mute for a day.

Congress, president, the parliamentary

They cannot talk at all

Listen while words fall

And they will hear from the world

Each little boy and girl

Will have a day to say

What it takes to make it okay

The girl from the slum in Mumbai

The boy from France whose dad said good-bye

The girl abandoned in Shanghai

The boy stuck in drugs in Dubai

All over the world problems said

Hearing the people left – for – dead

If it takes a day for them to hear

I’d close their mouths, let them draw near
