For Just a Day

The world could be beautiful if

For just a second, you open your eyes and embrace a new day.

For just a second, there’s no more hiding behind who truly you are.

For just a second, we open our mouths and not to ridicule, to spite, or to pronounce hatred.

For just a second, we love each other for our differences.

For just a minute, you let your imagination run wild.

For just a minute, you smile at someone you’ve never spoken to before now.

For just a minute, we don’t strip away the rights from people who need them just the same as us.

For just an hour, you lend your time to help someone else.

For just an hour, you help those who need it most.

For just a day, you value the little things.

The things that tear us apart

The things that bring us together

Beautiful.

For just a day.
