Just a dream

If this were more than just a dream, I would not only hold you close to me.

But I would also tell you that you matter to me.

Not because you're my friend but because you are someone I hold close to me

The only person I would confide in, I would be the shoulder you would cry on

whenever you felt sad.

If you ever felt lonely, remember that I am there, that I have not let you.

I am there for you, and don't you forget that.

Then again, if this were not a dream.
