just a drill

once a month,

they ring the bell

tell us we must be quiet.

shuffling into place-

bodies against bodies.

wait in silence

for the message

saying all is well.

all is well, all is well

no need to worry.

only a drill

because of the chance that one day

one day

all might not be well.
