Just a drink, in the beginning.

One drink was all; in the beginning. Free, from a man across the bar.

One kiss was all; in the beginning. Turning into an awkward morning at his place.

One headache was all; in the beginning. Eventually puking every morning.

A few pounds was all; in the beginning. I’m late, this month and last.

One plus sign was all in the beginning. Now a bottle; a small one, light blue.
