Just everyday things

Bring on the rain. I have an umbrella. Which keeps the sorrow out of my hair And out of my eyes. And I'd rather not taste the bitterness. My tears tasted salty enough as is! So I keep my umbrella and its the color of joy. Bring on the darkness. I have a flashlight. Which runs off an optimistic battery. And points the way that I want to go. It's a handy tool when the lights go out. Or at night during a new moon. So I keep my flashlight handy, just in case. Bring on the fear. I have a smile. Which makes fear not so fearful anymore Sometimes it's not so easy to muster up, But when I do the fear goes away And I stop shivering or running. So I find a reason to smile. Bring on the pain. I have a bandaid. Which stretches in accordance to the wound Wether I be stabbed or scratched Or given a spoken scar I can cover it up to give it time to heal. So I keep some in my pocket. I don't know about you But I'm ready to face life.
