Just an inch

What do you see when you look at me? Huh,

Wait don’t say it because I already know,

You see a scared insecure girl, you figured out my biggest fear,

Being seen for who I really am, but is that all you see,

No, no you see the person I try to be,

Happy, sophisticated, content and most of all intelligent

Truth is that is only the inch of my life you know,

Just an inch to the never ending rope of my life,

You judge what you see,

You barley even know me,

If you take the chance you would see,

You would see my kind eyes and open heart,

My loving embrace and kind words,

My passion and desire to succeed in everything I do,

My desire to retain everything I can,

Because time doesn’t stop and the world keeps turning,

With every passing moment is a new moment I learn something new,

With every passing moment I meet new people,

Crazy, awesome, loving, wonderful people

Who teach me the most important thing of all friendship

Trust me friendship is one of the most important things in life,

They never judge you; they comfort you when you are in your emotions,

Family problems, break-ups,

Moves, or when you are just acting irrational,

I never really had friends growing up; I have had life changing events happen

I witness many family members’ funerals,

Much more than anyone should ever have to go through,

I moved a lot, my first friend was my older sister,

So when you think you have my life figured out think again,

Because you only know an inch, you only know an inch

Imagine you in my shoes,

Imagine you going through everything I had to go through,

I bet I am in a better stage than you will ever be in,

Having to live my life is tough,

I don’t wish any one to go through what I have gone through,

At a young age having your life ripped from you,

Crying for hours because of pain,

Crying out hoping people care,

Crying because you want your dad in your life,

Crying because your grandmother and two close uncles died,

Having your innocents taken from you,

Having to raise your family member’s kids because they couldn’t,

Crying because you found true love and you can’t have it,

I have a rough crazy life,

But I still manage for everyone to perceive me as this

Happy, outgoing, sophisticated, intelligent and oh yea insecure girl

Truth is I am insecure because of the life I have lived,

So when you think you have figured me out,

When you think oh this girl has it easy think again,

Remember you only know an inch,

Just one little inch

Not ever enough to say you know what you have gone through,

Don’t come to me and tell me understand,

Because you don’t,

Have you ever been broken? ,

I have, I have been broken and put back together so many times

I have more missing pieces than humpty dumpty,

I know what you’re thinking; this girl is simply crazy,

She couldn’t have possibly gone through what she says, but I have,

Imagine the person you look up to the most in the world tears

Your whole world from you,

To the point there was no return, to the point you

Feel worthless and the world would be better off without you,

Everyone you once loved wouldn’t be affected by your decision to

End your life,

But by this time you feel nothing, just pain, no remorse, sadness, fear, love

You lose all your love for everyone,

That’s the last one you go through, imagine you like that,

Forget it, I know you can’t or at least you don’t want to,

I mean why would you,

No one, I mean no one wants to imagine themselves getting to that point,

So now that you can see the outline of my life what do you think? ,

Yes so go ahead and perceive me as what you want,

Just know that you probably had it a lot easier than me,

So yes compared to the never ending rope of my life you can only know an inch

Just one little inch
