Just Let Me

When I walk through,

give me a free A for the year.

Tell me you trust my brains,

I'll smile from ear to ear.

Take my books and throw them down

tell me that even you would want to frown.

Just let me be free,

I promise I'm listening,

just let me comb my hair.

I know this isn't beauty school,

I'm here to learn and follow the rules,

but sometimes I don't have a care.

I listen to you when You teach

sometimes I think you even preach,

Math and reading I know is essential.

I love to learn

but everyday makes my eyes burn

How much must I dedicate to credentials?

Just let me laugh and talk a while,

I'm telling you let's just relax.

Let's act as if we are in kindercare,

they always make time for naps.

I was up all night talking with my friends

I'm sure it was along the lines of rumors.

Her boyfriend cheated and needs to mend

the lump in her throat the size of a tumor.

Just let me text and I promise to act

as if I'm giving you my dedication.

If I was a teacher, I'm not telling a rat,

I promise I would enforce the board of education.
