Just Let Me Breathe

I'm sitting in class but mentally I've been gone for months. Some mornings feel like drowning but without the water. Eyes open, heart heavy, like it's only getting harder not easier. I stare at the ceiling, wondering if I'm going to live. Not survive. Time keeps moving but the feeling stays. Running from changes you don't wanna face. I'm sitting in class but lost in mind. Every word I hear, but leave my mind. Everyday feels like a fight you can't see. You versus you. No referee. Just let me breathe. Let me breathe air I haven't taken in. Let the noise fade out, let my mind stop running and just exist here. I don’t want answers, I just want quiet that stays.
