Just Life

The addiction begins,

The feeling of not knowing,

The loss of power starts,

The strength you thought you had,

Begins to dwindle in the confines of night,

The stress of sleep less nights suffocates the strong.

The caffeine cannot save you from the darkness!

The darkness that tempts you to a dream world,

Which will trap you for hours.

Precious time be lost,

When it dwindles down to time,

We do not have enough,

But we have all we need to make the chance.

The chance to be more!

To study more and retain less,

My life is not based on me,

But on the quality of how I perform.

I need to act.

I need to prepare.

There is so much to do,

In a little amount of time,

But I look on to know,

To be apart of a society,

To act as a member,

To make a difference,

To decipher the truth in life,

And to let others know,

What really matters?

Not humans…

Not us….

Just Life. All life.

The trees. The grass. The squirrels.

I look at school as a place to know,

The facts about the things I love.

So let the addictions begin,

Let the night be my friend,

For the power of knowledge,

Is worth the sacrifice of time.
