Just Listen

I hear you talking about me

not realizing your words carry.

And they cut open my soul.

I opened up to you, I trusted you

"it's a teenage phase"

"just all the pressure"

And so much more

As if dismissing it will make it go away

But it's your tone that lays me bare

The anger laced with disappointment

Melded with annoyance

I can't take it anymore

I search for my headphones

I blast the music to stop the voices
