Just Me
its not easy to admit, its not easy to say
i was raised to shine, not to decline.
I’m not perfect, there I said it.
try getting my parents to accept it.
I was molded into a successor, to out rank the rest.
the climb to the top was really my best.
I’m a disappointment, i know.
I was just an investment to my own.
“Why can’t you just finish? Why can’t you be like your friends?”
“Why can’t you just be normal? I didn’t ask for this”
I hear this almost everyday.
It’s just a reminder of my mistakes.
I know I’m not perfect, but I AM ME!
I am not as pretty as the other girls.
I am not as smart as they thought I was.
Yes, I didn’t finish college in four years.
Yes, I have a baby with no father.
Yes, I haven’t started my life.
But, But!
I am trying my best.
I am on my own clock.
I am on my own rules.
I am going to make a future.
I am not going to be a fool!
I am not perfect, but that is just me.
