Just Me

When you strip me down to my very core

I'm afraid of what you'll find

I haven't seen that person in a while now

pure heart, soul, and mind

When you wash my face of all my makeup

and reveal my natural skin

will you see the love deep within my eyes

will you see where I have been?

When you reach out to touch my untainted  soul

and I have no camera lens behind which I can hide

will you see the things that I have buried

deep, deep inside?

When you strip me down to my very core

I know what you will see

beneath the facade

I'm really just me
