Just For Me

What can I say out loud for all to hear?

About the words that I hold dear.

For someone that has always been quiet and shy,

It is hard to tell you why.

I’ve always been a talkative person, 

but my words being said needed no reason. 

Poetry allows me to express the way I feel, 

which has always allowed me to heal.

It doesn’t need to be a long narrative

or even something imperative. 

Short poems, like these, could be low-key, 

but it’s something that means greatly to me.
