In Just One Blink

Its dark and quiet; one sound is all I could here...BOOM!!!! The battle has begun. Each of us scared out of our minds, yet can't show any of those signs. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, I have no idea how long we have been fighting, but I do know that in just one blink of an eye someone lies forever asleep on that battlefield. Basting myself with great thoughts of victory I quickly turn to reality of thoughts of a minnie-ball expanding in my leg. A NOISE!! Nothing. Do my ears deceive me, TICK, TICK, TICK... I quickly look and right beside me, a bomb. In just one blink of my eye, I lie there in the great light, not alone and forever asleep on that cold battle, yet to be won.
