For just one night...

For just one night.

This park I'll call home tonight, and this bench I'll call my bed.
An old army coat from the downtown mission separates, the silk sheets from my head.
I'll day dream up a sunny day, as I laze about the pool.
With an iron fence so high and locked up tight, I will not be made a fool!
After some long hours, my many gardeners will have created a yard so perfect.
On tiptoes will my jealous neighbors whisper, discussing my glorious new, wrap around deck!
With Mai Tai in hand, I'll give a wave, smiling so full of pride.
Not another year or even day, will my possessions I have to hide.
My guest will be pleased as they visit my home, and in turn invite me to some dinner.
Complimenting my fine tastes, they'll find me charming and with honest tone, call me a newborn winner.
For now I'm a man of status and wealth and I'll never turn it back!
With a fridge so full and a home so grand never again will I lack.
Waking cold to a honking car, I remember the truth in the new days light,
though fleeting it was paradise, if only for just one night.
