Just Remember

Just remember the day you came to save me,

We were both scared of each other,

Neiter one of us knowing what the future held,

But somehow knowing that together we would stay.

Just remember everything you taught me, 

You showed me how to walk up stairs,

Something that terrified me, but that day I learned you would never let me fail,

So I promised the same.

Just remember the thunderstorms we sat through together,

We welcomed the booms.

Just remember I followed you everywhere and you did the same,

Even when I wondered off to the lake,

You followed me all the way home.

Just remember all the stories you told me,

And all the promises we made,

I told you I would not leave until you found someone else to take care of you like I did.

Just remember my wings finally grew,

And I can now watch the storms that we loved from above. 

Just remember I was your girl like you were mine,

Never give up and just remember the good times.

Just remember when your tears of sorrow start to form,
