Just A Second
They tell me to be quiet
When all I need is to speak
They tell me to move
When all I need is to be still
Just a second, all I need
To pull myself together
Just a second, all I need
To try to explain my actions
But a second is not what I get.
So I move
My vision blurs
And I shift into confusion again
So I am quiet
My heart sinks
And the voices in my head multiply and
I wonder why it hurts so much.
I am no talented
Master of pen
But I just need a second
Before the world continues to spin
And I am left alone again.
They tell me to be quiet
And I want to scream
They tell me to move
And I want to freeze time
Just for a second
Just a second! all I need
To collect my thoughts, my strength
Just a second, all I need
To try to explain myself for once
But a second is never what I get.
And so I move
My vision warps
I am confused, again
So I am quiet
My head screams
The voices inside it multiplying and
I just need a second!
They look at me like I'm weird
Even I can't explain
The thoughts or the feelings inside of my brain.
Since I am no talented
Master of pen
I just need a second
But the world continues to spin
And to spin and to spin
I just need a second -
