just simply for the view

 just simply for the view

the morning i fell from my tree was

the first time i searched for my strength

staring from the ground

as sun beams graced the boys faces during their conquest

through limbs of a tree i could not climb because

because i was a girl

but the letters G I R and L would not stop me

and in my mind seeds were scattered, enclosing a tree

that i would reach the top of one day.

age 8, my climb beings

when it was proclaimed by the world

that a queen could not reign

madness coursed through my veins

And i lit a match watching as my kingdom morphed to ash

and as i turned away from the ruins

the word unfair cascaded down my cheeks

to water the seeds i had scattered there.

age 13, i catch myself on the lowest limb of my tree

distant for the girls beneath me

because they were thrown to the ground

by weak so called love

becoming mimes to the adults surrounding them

But what these girls do not understand

is they have galaxies beneath their skin

stars in their eyes and consolation in their veins

the universe is in their hands

In the real world a forest of women are swaying

not able to make up their minds because

really does a womens a opinion matter?

powerless, weak, emotional, inadequate, objectionable,

unqualified, unwanted, unneeded, undesirable

but no

we do not need someone to carry our delicate bones

or shape our feeble minds

we are strong

i only want

to dance my way through the continents,

to wallow in the streams

celebrating life without confinements

if you are ever lost in the wild,

you are instructed to climb a tree

in hope of finding a society

but in my mind the intention of my climb

is not to find another human

its just simply for the view.
