Just a Singer

He is, just a singer,

That, plays the melodies of your child's sweet Lula byes.

He is, just a singer,

Who dazes off with silent sighs into the rhythm of the night sky.

He has, only the one single purpose to you,

To bring the tingle of the lovely sounds of the earth to you.

But you didn't care of burden he carried or the tears he held on to.

You closed your eyes

He is a, soul singer,

Strumming the notes in every part-with ease,

Numbing the pain of his life as soon as he starts - he believes.

Yet, there he was in front of the crowd,

Smiling and laughing as everyone was screaming out loud,

Though, never questioned the ache that was placed -ever -so - gently -  upon his whole heart,

Because you see,

He is, just a singer.

Makes you feel joy when you hear the power in his voice in his words, he sustains,

The power that gets louder every hour as he rejoices in pain.

He sings of his hopes and dreams,

Because, that’s all he’ll ever know.

He sings of peoples' stories,

Telling of some rocky bottoms and bitter sweet sorrows.

He, plays out the dreams he sees then he deems he needs a better tomorrow,

If it ever comes.

He is, a sweet heart.

Fighting to live for a glance at a chance for a clean start.

And he sits there shaking his head, because he knows, the cards just are not in his favor.

He is, just a singer,

Who’s sounds you play in your head as you lay in your bed on your way to sleep, But He,

Just rather lay in his bed with his girl's voice overhead ever so silently,

But she’s gone, and now there he is, with nothing in him left to speak.

Because He used up all of his words for you

Can't see the things he gave up, and you never knew.

More concerned with his charming rhythm, then the soul that once lived deep down within him.

But it’s okay,

Because, after all,

He is, Just a singer

So he'll do what he does best for the rest,

And, he'll sing the night away.
