JUST SIT THERE

Just sit there And let the silence speak Your kindest sympathies smitten Even though the rains may roar louder The whispers of your heart my heart will listen Just sit there And listen like the wind Though my words be jumbled like puzzles, pieces Though lost within like a box of blank cards This is a song of maps and compasses Just sit there And let the sunbeams melt in your face Then smile like petals do Even though the wind may shake you Left, right, back and forth Dance along, little rose, dance along Just sit there And speak of amusements Of the simple random deep conversations Of jazz music and acoustics Of Sunday mornings and black tea Of novels and butterflies Of crossword puzzles and toenails Of murals and bantu knots Of chirping birds and sunsets Of scrambled eggs and thermometers Of stars and dinosaurs Of curiosities and wishes Of whiskey and Octopuses Of fears and laughter Of the simple but deep conversations There are birds small enough to live forever
