Just Slow Down

I've felt small

In the vastness of it all

In nostalgic fields at night

Chin up to watch the stars fall

With so many I acquaint

I find it hard to communicate

They're blindly led by a faith

That our significance equates

To the paper we procreate

But they all got it wrong

Egos bound to deflate

If you find your mind astray from the delusions we create

Destroying our world to work our way

With straight line, build sky high

We objectify the very things that keep us alive

That upon our breath relies

You think that if these leaves could talk,

They'd tell us lies?

It'd be selfish to think in their trust we would lie

Can it be true that their perception's our demise?

What can I do besides consider it a prize

That I've known you for the time

To memorize the freckles on your skin

And match them to the stars in the skies.
