just some ramblings about being single

i am discouraged.

the lord has given me a desire to wed-

to be the bride, walking down the aisle, in a fluffy white gown.

to care for my other half, body and soul.

but i am single, and i'm not talking to any men.

every person i have commiserated with about singleness has recently started dating

or even gotten engaged. or wed. or pregnant.

i feel lonely, for i don't understand the jokes that come with having a partner.

i feel confused, for i have prayed for a husband and the lord has not seen fit to give me one.

i feel angry, for i have an unfulfilled, bone-deep desire.

but the lord provides.

the lord's plan is perfect.

the lord knows exactly the right man to send my way, and exactly the right time to send him.

so i can say, with assurance,

it is well, with my soul.
