Just A Soul

In an infinite dynamic universe

How foolish of me to discourse my intentions

My values and dreams are not intangible

In this concept of life mine is barely manageable

They say life is all the same

Always searching for someone else to blame

Yet in society perseverance is shunned away

Covered up with love and supposed equality

My aspirations are what make me

I am what I am and what I do

Actions speak louder than words and my actions are viewed

By others that love me and others that judge me

It’s been said that the course of love never did run smooth

I tried to love and failed but it wasn’t wrong of me to choose

Now I’m not just living I’m thriving

Breathing every moment in an anticipation of euphoric arriving

Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans

Nothing else matters now

My fate is in my hands

I am beautiful and courageous

This concept is more contagious than the plague of immorality

My only want in life is to spread love

I am living on a foundation preplanned from above

I can’t be summed up by comparison

Daring to be different and to be called unfeminine

This is the hell we live in strangling our bodies with useless medicine

Pandora’s Box never provoked my desires

I’d rather pour gasoline on it and use it to fuel my fire

I’m strong enough to know better

The difference between self worth and conventional pleasure

When it comes down to it I know I’m an offender

Of the rules and preconceived notions of beauty

Yet somehow your gazes won’t pierce me

Can you even see me?

In the end I’m just a soul

I will not conform to your generic mold

I refute the idea that I’m just a commodity

I’m not selfish this is just my policy

I am who I choose to be

…I am a priority
