Just a Thought

There is a stone

that I have seen.

It carries a name

and forbidden scene.

I silently notice

and loudly walk on.

If I were to stay

it would seem wrong.

There is a bridge

that I have crossed.

The path’s clear to many

and few have been lost.

As I walk on

I hear every step.

I must stay in line

a pace to be kept.

I’ve made an ascent

not many would dare.

To me, it’s so common

that I no longer care.

But others have fallen

or rather they’ve thrown

all their work to the wind.

They all fell alone.

I do not wonder

where their mind was.

I wish that I did.

Everyone else does.
