Just a While

Just for a while

We are apart.

Just for a while

I can not see you.

What is this feeling

That pesters my heart?

I don't understand

Why it hurts me so.

I have heard people say

You don't know a worth

Until it's no longer beside you.

I must admit

I never expected

That someday I'd cry over you

Letters that drift into safe hands

Never receive a response.

But I hope

And I pray

They'll brighten your day

And show you

A piece of my heart.

I realize now

I didn't tell you enough

How much you meant to me.

I'm hoping you know

I miss you so

I meet you in my dreams

Yet in the pain

I see now

That there is a good plan.

For God is not finished

Writing your story.

His love

Shines through

All danger and worry.

So stay strong

Do not fear

Know that He is near

And remember

You are in my heart

And it is

Just a while

We are apart
