Just Words?

From Edgar Allen Poe, to Dr. Seuss

what I have learned from poems might make me have my screws loose.

From learning to simply rhyme, to making others use their mind

the simple words on a page are all interwined.

But you see they aren't just words on a page,

they are the words that have let me come onstage.

They are the words that have opened my mind and broadned my view,

showing me what all the world is able to do

Stating just one thing that poetry has taught me would be impossible,

but I know for sure, it has been able to let me teach the rest of the world what IS possible.
