Just You and Me

I look into your steady blue gaze,

And I feel myself falling into a strange daze,

I study your beautiful face,

And my heart begins to race

I know it’s the natural thing to do

To admit that I’m falling for you

Because it’s only us tonight

The moon is our spotlight

The world is our stage

I’m glad we’re on the same page

We’ve got the world to see

Baby, it’s gonna be just you and me

And out on our journey, so wide and so long

We can listen and enjoy our song

And I want to spend the rest of my life

With you as my wife,

We will be together through every strife

Because it’s only us tonight

The moon is our spotlight

The world is our stage

I’m glad we’re on the same page

We’ve got the world to see

Baby, it’s gonna be just you and me

I have a baby now, he’s my little boy

You can tell he’s my pride and joy

He has his mama’s steady blue gaze

Wish she was here now, life’s such an emotional maze!

He has strong lungs and a singing voice

Soon he’ll know you getting cancer, we never had a choice

Through the medications, surgery, and test

I’ll tell him how you fought your best

Because it was only us a night

The moon was our spotlight

The world was our stage

We’re stranded on a separate page

We had the world to see

Missing you so much is a knife to the heart

Wish we didn’t have to be apart

But until my time has come

I’ll raise our son

Into the man, we want him to be

From above, I know you’ll be watching me

And our little boy, our pride and joy

Because it’s only us tonight

Your mom is our spotlight

The world is our stage

I’m glad we’re on the same page

We’ve got the world to see

Son, it’s gonna be just you and me

Baby, now it’s gonna be just you and me
