Justice for You

Are we so used

to seeing the violence,

that it no longer phases us?

Everyday we turn to the news:

this person died,

that person died.

“Rest in peace.”

There has to be a change,

The violence

needs to end.

Mary,

30 years old,

two young children.

Taken from us

way too soon.

We would later be told

“gunshot wound,

to the head.”

How could someone

be so cruel?

Drive-by shooting.

Gang related.

Mary,

criminal justice major.

Gang related?

Mary,

We miss you.

Mary,

We love you.

Mary,

We can’t wait

to see you again.

Fly high, gorgeous.
