Justin

His face, a pale blue
Masked with makeup
His face
His face that once was full of life
Slumber overtook him
The want to open his bright brown eyes is agonizing
But leave them closed
There nothing more than fogged and gray
He only wanted to sleep
He thought tomorrow would come
If only I had been there
If only he had never
Fallen into darkness
He would be here
With us
And now I get to be home
I get to walk through this heavy door
Why
Why me
The overwhelming death, crushing shoulders
Hidden tears
Brass door knobs
Something of earth
If only it was an option
And though I think otherwise
I cannot hush the whispered sobs
That envy the dead
