Justine (Please wake up)

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
You are too
Smiling green eyes
Held thoughts friends couldn't see
Long sleeve shirts
Held wounds you did not need

I thought everything was fine and dandy
Till you swallowed those pills like candy
Apparently eternal sleep
Appealed more than facing secrets you wanted to keep

Roses are red
The sun ain't shining
All your friends sit here pining
So please, Justine, wake up soon
Let us know you'll be ok
You look so small, all we can see is your head
Emerge like a butterfly from your blanket cocoon
Get up and leave that hospital bed

Violets are blue
The sugar's almost gone
So flutter your eyes and see anew
All the love
Your friends have for you
