A thin cloud of smoke

disappears into

three syringes

(Was it ever there?)

I swear I lived here, I just forgot

my head severed

buried in Georgia snow

38 lines intersecting in

unobtainable

cross sections of empty ink wells

scattered across ice bridges

falling home

I lived here

until you forgot

and now your unsettling warmth

although you never were

leaves like bullets in the shape

of a Red Cardinal

splattered on the pavement of

an empty room

(Yours wasn't)

I swear

(Will you stretch my skin tighter across my ribs until)

I can forget
