Kaleidoscope

Pushed down and

Thrown on the ground

Justice may just come around

One shot, two shot is heard in the crowd

People running away from the sound

The battle of segregation strikes the entire nation

The fire of oppression spreads like a mutation

Segregation requires determination

Then this will spark a revelation

We may be oppressed but we are not depressed

Distressed is something we cannot digest

This we will fight against and lay it rest

And then we will start our protest

Martin will guide us and not divide us

Justice he will supply us

We will fight with peace

And defeat the police

With that it will be their receipt

We are in the back

Put under attack

With all your words that don’t mean whack

Treated like trash

But we will smash

And cause whiplash

The backlash will come but we will act like it is just ash

We are taught to hide

But that won’t slide

And that will not be denied

And we will always have our pride

So let this be a lesson that we will rise

And that ain’t a lie

So we will take our prize
