Kansas Storm

The air was hot and thick that day.

I sat and watched my home team play.

The stands were packed with fans so true.

While far away the storm clouds grew.

Clouds tiptoed near so dark and drear.

The sky turned black; the crowd knew fear.

A cold, still chill was broke in two

By flash of light and thunder through.

The blasts of wind and pound of rain --

Drops hit me hard; I felt their pain.

And just as fast, the sky turned blue.

My calm returned; as rainbow grew.
