Karen Carpenter

Karen Carpenter, how I wish you live.
It is joy that your voice can give.
When your voice rings through my ears,
it always has the power to rid my fears.

How I wish many knew of your talent!
Many have not know what I meant
When I played the heavenly sound you sang.
But when they heard you, they always said, "Dang!"

Your story is a tragic one
Too early your life was done
You were such a sweetheart
I wish you did not depart.

It has been 30 years since you left
I always consider your death a theft
From a world who loved you so
We will always miss you, you know.

I wish you were still alive,
But into your music I dive,
When I need consolation
Your voice will always serve as my inspiration.
