katharos

there once was a girl, a lifetime ago a girl born with steel in her eyes aphrodite of skin, and athena within and a beautiful, dangerous pride she was an uncommon girl in an unprepared world and each day proved to age her a year forsaking the past she could kill, she could laugh and she denied the capacity for fear she was raised in a fire and nurtured it higher she was everything and all things, save for tame elated by rain, she luxuriated in pain cloaked in dignity, she sheltered her shame she broke hearts, for she could, was deemed “up to no good” and she believed it, after a time empty and spent from each heart that she rent thrown into an abyss, she forgot how to climb her heart broke while she lied could not stop -- though she tried and in the distance, future was but a doubt her lies were perfectly deft, but they left her bereft and all she asked for was some sort of “out” yet as time moved along mind and muscle grew strong and she fought as never she had fought before she embraced each sunrise with the same steel in her eyes in this life she had come to adore now with tortured darkness she shines her brilliant, volatile mind is composed of both darkness, and light catch her if you dare, but a warning, beware her spirit blinds day and illuminates night
