Keep Me, Please?

The air, stuffy with dust

Linger around my eyes making it hard to see.

I search for you through the disgust

But you were nowhere to be found as if you were set free.

A man shouts followed by another;

The money goes up higher along with my pounding heart.

Women from the ship are taken with others,

As they are all carried off in a wagon cart.

Out the window the breeze blows,

And you appear within the mist.

Everything around me, it all froze--

Once I blinked, you disappeared and all was missed.
