Keep Swimming

As the days go by

And the clock hits 12 once again

Life hits you

And the pain consumes you

I ask myself why

No one to go to

No energy to find one to relate to

Or is there no one to relate to?

I am a misfit

Though I appear as a smashing hit

Feeling detached from society

Actually from life itself

It is all a big blur

Sometimes I feel like a lure

At first wanted

Then they use and dispose

Atleast wanted for a second I suppose

No one seems to notice

They see me as I have everything

The pretty face, always smiling, lifting others up, and a high GPA

But does that really matter

In the latter

I am not happy and losing my care

I want to pull out my hair

Why oh why me.. I want to hide in this den

I try and try...then try again

I shouldn't feel this way

They say never give up but it has been years

I been all open ears

For that one sign of hope

Maybe it is all dope

Oh what do I do?

When all I want to do is lay here and wait

Wait for the light to shine

I feel so confined

In this darkness and lost at sea

Somedays the storm makes me sway

The current is taking my further away

Then there are days that the tides take me

My mood shifts and things are not as gray

I enjoy a day in the warm sand and life lets me be

Where there are a few helping hands

Life is not so bland

I feel lifted but then it comes to bay

So suddenly and oh dear the waters are rising

It's a big ol' wave

I can't breathe

The memories and wishes are drowning me

The thoughts are ripping and crashing

It is all so bashing

But that one fish deep at sea comes to me

It tells me once the day ends, the sun will rise

You can always revise

But remember

God sets a new course of events

Full of lessons and pleasures that may even seem bent

It is the little things in life and you must enjoy the present

Christ has allowed us to repent

There is no reason to panic, no reason to be sad

It really isn't so bad

I am here for a purpose and so are you

Time, hope, and love

And including patience are the ingredients to cherish

They all bring great things but also can be paradoxical

The question is.. is it worth it?

You can always start over and find new things to love

Perhaps meet someone as lovely as a dove

Even as a little colorful fish, I may be swallowed or be put on a dish

I did no harm, but I can't be granted every little wish

The ocean is dangerous

To the vast waters I am as littler than a nut

But you know what

I keep swimming

Even when the light is dimming
