Keeper of Secrets

Take a deep breath, I tell myself as I shield myself from the ignorance I surround myself with.

But not by choice, oh never by choice would I live in this strange place that I call a home.

But it’s not a home it’s a house it’s a house where lies are told and secrets are kept, but never kept correctly because I know them- all of them actually. I know everyone’s secrets. I just do, and nobody sees this so please don’t ask me how.

secrets about love and secrets about hate. secrets about trust and secrets about deceit.

What an honor an honor indeed to hold such a burden, to know what I know, to feel what I feel-- to think the way I do. Some may call it a gift and some may call it a curse, but keep in mind that secrets have a special idea and special beauty behind them- they’re meant to be hidden, like the answer to a riddle. But you don’t know me like you think you do, i enjoy a good mystery, and you don’t know me like you think you do whether we have good or bad history.

so here I am, i volunteer to crack this code because I’m too- I’m too scared to fix the flaws in my code.

so many truths yet to be told, so many lives yet to be ruined

the number of bite marks on my tongue keep growing as I keep on keeping myself from saying anything that could lead to chaos or even worse- the truth.

I want to expose. I want to fix, and then I just want to forget.

yeah, that’s exactly how I wanted to spend my youth.

but it’s okay, because chaos to one can be normal to another and I am the one that finds chaos usual and I am the one who knows..

I know secrets, I just do, and you don’t have to ask me how because I’ll tell you right now. In order to know the story behind a secret, you have to be a secret. I mean, it takes one to know one right?

but yet, so many of them lay there out of sight.

and let us not forget about the truth, oh I live for the sweet and powerless truth. and nothing is more terrifying than holding something as bitter and powerful as a secret. you’re holding it, but it’s holding you hostage. Taunting you, torturing you, haunting you. waiting on its next victim- its next keeper.

if you keep my little secret with you wherever you go, you may just solve a few mysteries. and maybe then you’ll understand what I’m saying. and maybe then- just maybe, you may understand the insanity of being the keeper of secrets
